Seaweed, a three-bedroom holiday home in Combe Martin, North Devon comfortably accommodates up to six guests. The dog friendly self-catering cottage in Combe Martin is only a stone's throw from the family-friendly beach, which is perfect for playing in rock pools or going kayaking. The cottage also lies just a short walk from the South West Coast Path, which provides endless walks around this stunning coastline.
Seaweed has only recently been fully refurbished to create a lovely modern holiday cottage for couples or family to enjoy all year round. Seaweed is great for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and to sit back and relax, whilst enjoying this quiet seaside village setting.
The cottage, which has a nautical theme, is entered via a bright conservatory. From here you walk into a good sized open plan living area featuring a comfy lounge, a dining area and a very well-equipped kitchen. French doors then lead out to a small patio area where you’ll find a built-in BBQ and lockable storage for kayaks, SUP boards or bikes. This separate entrance to the patio and handy outside tap is ideal for dog owners and watersports enthusiasts to minimise the amount of sand brought into the cottage.
The bedrooms at Seaweed are split over two floors; on the ground floor there is a double bedroom located next door to the family shower room. Upstairs, there are two further bedrooms; one is a double and the other is a flexible double/twin with linked beds. The second family bathroom with bath and shower overhead can also be found on the first floor. Please don’t forget to request how you would like the beds made up upon booking!

Seaweed is located in the beautiful North Devon village of Combe Martin. This small seaside village has its own family friendly beach, a selection of places to eat and several shops, all of which are within easy walking distance of the holiday cottage. A particularly fantastic walk is the South West Coast Path which will take you up to Little and Great Hangman. This walk starts just a minute from the house and takes you up the famous local cliffs. On a clear day one can see Wales on the other side of the Bristol Channel.
A highlight for those staying at Seaweed is its proximity to the beach and although the main beach is only dog friendly outside of the holiday season, Newberry Beach, which sits alongside Combe Martin Beach, is dog friendly all year round. Combe Martin Beach is home to some of the best rock pools in North Devon and is well known for its sea kayaking and sea fishing. Jet-skis can also be hired locally at Watermouth Cove.
Combe Martin Beach is becoming increasingly popular for stand up paddle boarding (SUP). This water sport born from surfing is a unique way to experience North Devon’s stunning coastline.
Combe Martin lies on the South West Coast Path and is only a short drive from many popular attractions such as Croyde, Woolacombe and Saunton Beaches, and Arlington Court, Watermouth Castle and Exmoor Zoo. For days out, the Victorian town of Ilfracombe with its beautiful harbour is only a 10 to 15 minute drive away, or you can walk along the South West Coast Path. Other places of interest nearby include Exmoor National Park, Lynton and Lynmouth, Clovelly, Appledore, Instow and Lundy Island. The latter is accessible via boat throughout the main holiday season and is a wonderful day trip.
